A Progressive Victory

Elizabeth Warren has been appointed by Pres Obama to head the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.  I know it's all easy to be cynical about anything Obama does, but recently I've been feeling the importance of celebrating the victories.  While in the past Obama has appointed neoliberal Clintonites to his economic advisory team, Warren is, in the words of MoveOn.org, a "populist progressive hero."  And all she really wants to do is make sure people don't get scammed on credit cards and mortgages and such!

Here's MoveOn.org's compilation of Warren's appearances on the Daily Show, breaking down the regulations we need to provide basic economic security and stability to ordinary folks.

I still believe its necessary to deconstruct the white liberalness of MoveOn, the Daily Show, and the constant sympathy invoked for the middle class--what about working class and poor people!?--but I'm gonna keep this one short and celebratory.
