I am in India. I have been here for about ten days. Delhi was amazing. I can't believe I felt so comfortable in a city of, what is it?, fourteen million. But I was ready to leave. I need some open space and some open time. Our foundation lectures have been incredibly stimulating. Smitu Kothari is our coordinating prof. He's sorta besties with a writer I'm quite fond of, her initials being AR.
India is literally the most diverse place. It is a miscrocosm of the world. Imagine anything and it is here.
My favorite quirk is the Indian head bobble. It means yes, okay, maybe, acha.
The mumbai attacks. We'll, it's sorta like 9/11 when I was in eighth grade on the west coast and it seemed only as real as all the world's headlines of disaster. It's also a coping mechanism to not freak myself out. My drunk homestay uncle assured us that we're 1000% safe. We're leaving the city = we're very safe.
Very little time.
I love to walk on the marble floors of temples in my barefeet. Temples wouldn't be nearly as cool if you had to wear shoes.
P.S. Gates!!! Bush the Imperialist's Secretary of War!!! Obama, please, you can do better.
